About
In an ancient Chinese fable a fisherman loses his way and stumbles upon a paradise hidden amongst a peach grove, a utopia where villagers live in perfect harmony. Eventually he pines for home and takes his leave, but is warned not to speak of his experience. Naturally, he returns and tells the world. Many search for the peach grove, but for naught, and it recedes into lore.
From this story comes the Chinese idiom, the peach spring beyond the world (世外桃源), which can denote a Garden of Eden-type of paradise, or simply a scenic spot off the beaten path. I have inverted that phrase into 桃源之外, the world beyond the peach blossom spring. That's the origin of this photo-blog's namesake. It's not quite about travel, but the world beyond paradise.
